Camera Lenses

One of the most frequent questions I'm asked is 'What lens or lenses should I buy?' That's a lot like asking 'What camera should I buy' and is always answered by the question 'What kind of photos do you take?' This section will look first at the broad scope of things and then narrow things down for you. We'll provide links to some of the major manufacturers so you can do some investigating yourself and I'll let you know what I'm currently using for the majority of my portraiture.
When preparing to buy a lens the first question you should ask yourself is 'What is my intended usage and what conditions will I be 'shooting' under? You can readily see that a photographer taking large group or team photos outside will have totally different need than someone taking action photos inside a hockey arena.
